Check for ingredients like Phenoxyethanol on your baby products labels

This is the generation of conscious parenting. Millennials take pride in being fully involved in Parenting irrespective of their gender or financial roles in the household. With educated parenting comes questioning. Gone are the days when a parent would buy something for their child just because the brand was a household name. Parents are conscious of what goes into the formulation, especially baby cosmetics products. But not all information given to us is 100% clear. It is our responsibility to be informed. Beginning from reading labels.

Labels help us consumers, to make informed decisions on whether the product is safe for our children or not. As a new parent, the safety of your infant is the pivotal decision maker in choosing any product. Potentially harmful baby products have been linked to health issues in children both acute and chronic.

Common ingredients to avoid in baby cosmetics products :

  1. Parabens
  2. Phenoxyethanol
  3. SLS and SLES
  4. Phthalates
  5. Dyes and Alcohol
  6. Tropolone
  7. EDTA

Regulations alas not rigid when it comes to products in the market. Still, many popular brands have the above-said ingredients in various concentrations and if you fail to read the label of the product you choose for your child you end up using them unintentionally and exposing your child to harm. Parabens are one such popular example that parents are now aware of.

But the most overlooked and potentially harmful ingredient we have all been ignoring in our products is Phenoxyethanol

Phenoxyethanol is another ingredient that is under question across various developed countries for usage in baby cosmetics products. Some developed countries like Japan and France have stopped their usage of Nappy cream and restricted usage to a very small % in other baby products.

For this sole reason, Chicco is one of the very few brands that prove trustworthy for our children.

Chicco, being an ethical and responsible baby care brand, took this call in advance to launch new baby moments which is ‘completely free from Phenoxyethanol’.

That’s not all, the new line has been enriched with many new natural ingredients that are known for nourishing a baby’s skin. All the ingredients in the entire baby moments line are of vegetarian origin.

As a mother, this assures me that I am not ignorantly introducing any harmful chemical to my baby. It gives me the confidence to choose these products which are safe for both the baby and me. It is after all our responsibility to choose baby safe products.
